Upon entering British Summer Time – Hyde Park you are greeted with a spectacle of activities, ranging from creating your own Coca Cola selfie gif, Paco Robanne’s silent disco and a Deliveroo giant slot machine. The festival accommodates for all ages and has a multitude of different viewing options. The classic standing and dancing areas a festival has to offer are dotted across the Hyde Park arena with the additional extras ranging from a Premium View ticket to Garden Terrace areas.

The main “Great Oak stage” supported by its creative set design and elaborate oak trees is situated at the opposite side to the entrance allowing festival goers to test out all other amenities as they pass through. With Massive Attack headlining and being the main attraction, this area slowly filled out (despite the summer rain) and created a great sunset image for the first night of the ten day festival.
Once entering the festival, the Barclay’s Stage is to the right and Casa Bacardi is to the right. Whilst the Barclay Stage could be seen as the ‘second’ stage it has a similar design concept to the Great Oak. A colourful arrangement around the edge of the stage captures the guests attention, and bubble machines to add to the atmosphere, the stage allows for a large but still intimate show.
To the right of the entrance, after passing the Silent Disco visitors hit Casa Bacardi. The Latino-esque area houses a stage and bar within an architectural fascia, and of course the music played matches the scenic style; exciting, lively, and carnival-like vibes abound. This area is definitely one for those who love to dance and to shut out other worldly distractions!

Just past the Barclays stage, after an array of food and drink carts, is the Playstation Music Stage. Hidden behind what looks like a pub, you must first enter the Playstation world before having an opportunity to watch anyone perform. Entering a tunnel filled with games consoles, adults need to get in touch with the inner child and first try out a game before receiving a wristband allowing you within the enclosed stage. No game, entry! I witnessed Shura perform on this stage and continuing the theme of intimacy, the fans had the opportunity to have an up close and personal show in which they could interact with the singer, as opposed to being amongst a large crowed only seeing a dot on the stage.
BST is open throughout the week with an array of activities available from an Open Air Cinema, Ping-Pong, Badminton, Comedy and much more! For more information and to get tickets for next weekends shows click the image below!
